World SalonWorld works on their eco-footprint as diligently as on their cuts. On Adelaide, the other side of St James Cathedral.

I have been coming to World Salon since it began! I live in the USA and come up to TO to see Brian and the Gang! I have been with Brian for 20 years and let everyone know "My-Brian" is the only one who can touch my hair!

After much bad experience with colouring my own hair and a trip to another salon with unsatisfactory results, I decided to research a hair salon before visiting one. From the presentation of the website, World Salon seemed a bit intimidating and uptight, but to my surprise, it was actually a very inviting space and staff. Interior rocks there. Johanna gave me a clear and concise consultation followed by colour correction, which despite being pricey for my broken student pocket ($150) was worth it. All staff was friendly, professional and polite, and seemed human and not pretentious (or maybe they're just very good actors ;)In the end, Johanna did try to sell me their shampoo and conditioner, but it's just my personal peeve for forcing a sale...I would definitely buy it because of its organic composition, but again it's way too expensive ($34 for both on promotion now). I would recommend the salon and Johanna because of her excellent results.

I've left my hair to the devices--and good graces--of Aki-Rosario, ever since she fixed an awful cut and color years ago. Aki incorporates a calm mindfulness to her work that is not scripted or used as a device manufactured in artifice; instead, she truly takes into consideration the whole person, and designs a style accordingly. It is in this manner that the individual is allowed to showcase his or her true nature: the rock star, intellectual, or dreamboat wears the style--the style does not wear (or wear thin on) the person.

I trust my hair with Aki because she is so worth it. Even as a poor student, the quality and longevity of her cuts far outweigh the cost. I've sent multiple now-ex-boyfriends to her; not only has she shaped up every one, but they continue to see her when they will no longer see me. The stronger relationship is evident!

Aki and the entire staff at World are just awesome. Their education and resumes and commitment to personal and environmental care should make them far more haughty than any of them actually are. World Salon has every reason to be pretentious, and yet they aren't. And it is such a treat, every time, to come in looking like shit, sit down with some tea, watch Aki and the crew work their magic with joy, in community with both each other and their clients, and leave feeling brilliant, and like an integral part of it all.

I am so grateful that Aki is part of my World.

May I add my name to this love-in? World is a great salon. Everyone there is awesome, but how can it be any other way when you have Brian at the helm? Brian is talented, kind and wonderful and he has surrounded himself with people of like-minds. Aki, for one, is not only a fantastic stylist but also a terrific person. I don't know how to describe the special charm of the place except to say walking in there for me is like walking into a good friend's living room. Everyone is friendly, gracious and real. I started going for the cut and colour, but I have stayed on because of the people.
